The Premier UK Disabled Flying Training Charity Since 1994

When once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been, and there you will always long to return.- Leonardo da Vinci

The APT Charitable Trust was founded by Mr James Edmonds in 1994.

The Trust was founded with the objective of providing facilities to teach seriously physically disabled people to fly, giving them the opportunity to enjoy the freedom of the sky.

Our purpose is to help them recover a belief in themselves and a degree of independence and confidence in their self-worth that enables them to face their difficulties and find a new challenge and purpose in their lives.

The APT Trust uses specially adapted CFM Shadow Microlight aircraft, and operates from the Old Sarum Airfield near Salisbury in Wiltshire. Hangarage, servicing and tuition are provided by the adjoining Shadow Flight Centre.
